Kwame Ak is set to return home on the ‘year of return 2019’campaign, which was launched in Washington DC in September 2018 for Africans in Diaspora.
The talented US based singer who has performed along side World greats like Neyo, Trey Songs, Jussie Smollet at the Made in America concert in Philadelphia,USA.
The US based singer has announced he is coming back to Ghana to imbibe more of the culture into his music. He said in an interview on Wfnm 89.1, a Philly based radio station that he already has a record with Top Ghanaian Raggae/Dancehall artist Stonebwoy titled “Love Somebody” and Is looking forward to collaborate more with other talented acts from Ghana like Kwesi Arthur, Kofi Mole, Medikal, Kwame Eugene & Kidi amongst many others.
Kwame Ak is known for writing his own lyrics since his early stages in junior high school before recording in a real studio in his senior level.
In 2005 to 2006, the rapper was the leader of the best group which was noted to be the hardest rappers in Presec, Legon, here in Accra Ghana.
His musical career grinded to a halt when he moved to the states few years later. He almost lost track of his passion until a new wave called Gh rap sprung in Ghana. He formed another group named Blackstarh Ent. with his friends.
Kwame Ak is doubtlessly one of the most acclaimed singers in the genre’s brief history. As much as any other individual artist, he is responsible for the rise of Gh music expansion in Philadelphia and its environs over a dedicated period.
After years, the afrobeats/afropop singer who shocked, appalled and fascinated the music world with the unbridled rage of his youthful music is reinventing himself as a mature artist as he returns back to his homeland.
